Longboarding

Remember the very first time your dad ever took you longboarding? Me neither. Mostly likely not because I was too little, but because I'm pretty sure it never happened. I mean, let's be honest here, how many of us can picture our dads longboarding? It's quite a comical mental picture to me. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad, and he is good at a LOT of things. However, longboarding is not one of those things. I'm pretty sure about this, but who knows now, with all the kids out of the house, it could be his new hobby of choice....right.

Anyway, it was a beautiful spring day (sorry if you don't live in st george and its still winter where you are, I really empathize) and we went to our church parking lot to take Parker longboarding for his first time. The good news is that there weren't any signs that said NO SKATEBOARDING, LONGBOARDING, OR ROLLERBLADING, so I didn't even feel guilty.
I think Parker loved it. It took a few minutes to get used to it, but by the end, he was just snuggling up to Clay and enjoying the ride.

Snow Canyon

Dan, Kim and the boys came down last month and it was so fun to hang out with them!
We went on a little hike up Snow Canyon and played at the sand dunes for awhile (Kim's favorite :)

Halfway to Nursery

Parker is 9 months old- in 9 more, he gets to go to nursery! I think that's probably how you think of your child in terms of age on Sundays right?
He is pulling himself up to kneel and stand, and he loves to just stand up leaning against the couch and hang out lookin around. I love this picture of him with his mouth open, and his little shorts. Which, thanks to the Christensen genes, are always too long. His long torso and short legs makes for some great belly-shirt/capri ensembles

Little ragamuffin. He totally pushes off his toes when he crawls and this is the result. We didn't want the circulation in his chubby little toes to get cut off, so we just cut the feet out of his pajamas. His first pair of cut-offs...

Whitewashed!

Over the holidays, we took Parker sledding for the first time. If it had been up to me, a little jaunt down the road would've been perfect for his first time. But do you think that would fly with Clay as his dad? Heck no. So we went to the infamous Dirt Hills down the road from my parent's house. This was where we sledded all growing up. I remember lots of tears being shed on the Dirt Hills. There are probably blood stains and body parts all over too, from years of kids biffing it. So Clay took Parker down THE STEEPEST hill, in fresh, fluffy snow. I told him to cover Parker's face, helloooo. But what do I know. Well, they both got it in the face. Parker wailed, Clay laughed, and I told you so....

And they say parents just want their kids to be happy. Does that kid look happy to you? At least Clay sure does!

Ketchup

I mean catch up. But i do love ketchup, especially on eggs. It was Parker's first Christmas, Hanakuh, Boxing Day, etc.... and his first Micah and Rachel's wedding, pretty exciting!

ZNP

When we moved down to SG, we bought an annual national park pass cause we live so close to Zion. We've gone enough now to have made it worth it!

It was pretty sketchy climbing up those stairs with ice falling from above. Made me grateful it wasn't the Khumbu Icefall we were crossing. This little hike/walk was Weeping Rock
