Grand Canyon

Memorial Day weekend, we went to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Neither of us had been, and it was beautiful! It was also our first time taking Parker camping. Wow. Not what it used to be that's for sure. Besides Parker crying in the car there AND back, Parker sprawling out on my thermarest and sleeping bag so I was stuck on the cold ground, freezing cold windy weather, and absolutely no sleep, it was a great trip!

Parker totally acted like he was helping Clay set up the tent. He loved it.

Parker's first tin foil dinner. It was awesome!

Great views and great company!

Heaven on Earth

We went to Lake Powell a couple weeks ago with some friends. Its so crazy that it is so close when we live in SG! We only stayed one day but it was fun and reminded us how much we LOVE Lake Powell. Parker loved the boat ride, but eventually got pretty sick of the bulky life jacket.

I was dying at these pics cause their hair, eyes, smiles, everything are exactly the same!

Parker's 1st birthday

My friend Janessa and I made these panda bear cupcakes. As I am not usually a crafty or make-cute-stuff kinda girl, I was pretty impressed with how they turned out. Even though some of them looked like raccoons or anteaters.

Parker did not hesitate going for the cake. We knew he would put on a good show.

This is his sugar shock face. He really hasn't had much refined sugar at all up to this point. Yes I was cringing as he stuffed his face full of sugar sugar sugar.
Striking a pose for the ladies
Ready to pounce on anybody who comes near his cake
The finished product.

Radio Flyer 2010

Parker got his first Radio Flyer for his 1st b-day (thanks Grandma & Papi)

Obviously excited about it
No, that is not a two-tone shirt. That would be drool. We love teething-what a blessing.
This is the quilt/blanket my mom made for Parker when he was born and it is now finished! I love it.

SG tri

I did my first olympic distance tri in st. george a few weeks ago. It was pretty hard. The swim was good, I felt awesome on the bike, and the run, well, I coulda gone without the run. All in all, I felt like on that day, I couldn't have gone any harder or faster. It was fun. In a sadistic sort of way.

The look on my face is this one pretty much sums up how I felt on the run. Had the killer combo of sideaches and quad crampage from hades. But at least I didn't get have a kidney stone too. There's always a brightside eh?
My awesome support crew who came down for the occasion

Clay is the best. I couldn't have trained or done any of this without him. He is the ultimate best husband!

My great friend Sarah who is always up for any adventure. She did awesome.

Parker is a boy

This week like 4 different people said something about Parker, referring to him as "her." "She has such pretty blue eyes", or "What a gorgeous baby. How old is she?" One of them was even at the swimming pool when he was wearing blue board shorts and NO shirt. Just wanted to reiterate that Parker is a boy. And he is so good at sticking his tongue out at us.
Clay brought home about 400 golf balls the other day. Parker was the most excited. I mean, who doesn't need 400 golf balls, especially when none of us golf?

We were trying to get a pic of his fangs. He was a little vampire for a little while until his front teeth came in.
Hangin out outside el templo

107 miles baby!

This is my awesome mom. To celebrate her 10 year anniversary of beating cancer, she wanted to do something big. She's a machine i tell you. So she came down to STG and did the Zion Century! Turns out it was actually 107 miles!!

I rode the first 40 miles with her, Clay rode the rest. They were soaked and freezing by the end. But she did it! Rain, wind, flat tire and all!

And here is Parker with some awesome bed-head and sleepy morning eyes. What's a blog post without at least 1 pic of Parker :)

This little man Parker

Thumb-suckin cutie.
He is so good at smiling for pictures. And smiling in general.
Love those blue eyes.
We laugh so hard when he shudders at something he doesn't like to eat. These days though, he eats everything. That's all he does all day long, eat, eat, eat. Clay is jealous.
He loves playing with Clay's hats. He'll probably fit in them soon-at his last check-up his head was in the 90th percentile!
