Whitewashed!

Over the holidays, we took Parker sledding for the first time. If it had been up to me, a little jaunt down the road would've been perfect for his first time. But do you think that would fly with Clay as his dad? Heck no. So we went to the infamous Dirt Hills down the road from my parent's house. This was where we sledded all growing up. I remember lots of tears being shed on the Dirt Hills. There are probably blood stains and body parts all over too, from years of kids biffing it. So Clay took Parker down THE STEEPEST hill, in fresh, fluffy snow. I told him to cover Parker's face, helloooo. But what do I know. Well, they both got it in the face. Parker wailed, Clay laughed, and I told you so....

Parker, so cute and unsuspecting....

And they say parents just want their kids to be happy. Does that kid look happy to you? At least Clay sure does!

Ketchup

I mean catch up. But i do love ketchup, especially on eggs. It was Parker's first Christmas, Hanakuh, Boxing Day, etc.... and his first Micah and Rachel's wedding, pretty exciting!

Chattin on his new phone, I love those phones

Of course he loved the wrapping paper best. That's why we gave him like 1 present and lots of wrapping paper
And it came to pass that baby Jesus crawled away about a million times during the Nativity.

ZNP

When we moved down to SG, we bought an annual national park pass cause we live so close to Zion. We've gone enough now to have made it worth it!

It was pretty sketchy climbing up those stairs with ice falling from above. Made me grateful it wasn't the Khumbu Icefall we were crossing. This little hike/walk was Weeping Rock

Adrenaline Rush

So I hate to shop. That's one reason why I never get anything for a great deal. Or why I actually never get anything period. If it requires shopping, especially at more than one place, its absolutely out of the question. But the other day, I went to the used book sale at the library-mostly for something to do. And guess what I got????? 25 CHILDREN'S BOOKS FOR 5 BUCKS!!!! Rachel-my thrifty super shopper sister-in-law who always gets the best deals in the world and who someday I will pay her to shop for me and my children-should be proud!! I was so excited I couldn't even stop thinking about it all day! Its such a bonus for me cause I was getting sick of reading Parker the same 7 books again and again. So I never understood how people get so excited about shopping and deals and stuff, but now i know....it really was a rush. But I still don't like shopping.
This is how happy Parker was to get new books!

Halloween & Race

Stoppin by to see the kids' costumes
Parker was Kermit the frog, but didn't really like to keep the head on

Charlie, Sam, & Parker

The race turned out to be awesome! Great weather, great volunteers, lots of runners, a great band, and great food at the finish! I just get so frustrated trying to blog because why the heck did it put the halloween pictures before the race pics? That is NOT the order i uploaded them, and I don't know how to change it. So if you are OCD and the disorganization is driving you nuts, just tell me how to do it right.

Rachel and Micah-Rachel was the 3rd place gal!

The Race & Halloween

Greg & Kelly at the finish line party. It was Kelly's first 10k and they did great! Especially for the tough course.

Dark Horse the i-Rok band

Clay & Hair Dawg-the race producers

Mom & Dan volunteering at the top

Parker was gonna run the race, but the prize money for first place wasn't that tempting to him
